Comment: Peter, who owns and runs the hotel has provided a wonderfully relaxing and very welcoming hotel, more a bed and breakfast in reality, but then he has some excellent recommendations for local restaurants. we ate in two and had wonderful meals. I would thoroughly recommend his hotel if you're visiting Evora, it's within the walls of the old city which means that most places are accessible within a 10-15 minute walk, and nothing seems to be too much trouble to help his guests.

Comment: HOTEL ALBERGARIA DO CALVÁRIO is not to be missed! If you are in the Alentejo region, or Portugal for that matter, stay here! The owners and staff make this hotel. Greeting and welcome by Hugo oriented us with the area, made us feel at home and introduced us to the Vinho Verde and other Alentejo wines. Excellent suggestions to wine stores, restaurants and sights to see. Peter and his wife take care in making sure their guests are completely taken care of, evident in everything from the custom decor, 24 hr bar, to the indulgent breakfasts - all organic, with one of the best grain spreads ever, including bee pollen from local growers. Oh, they'll even whip up a quad espresso for us caffeine addicts. Only thing we would have changed was to stay longer!

Comment: Michelle and Hugo were superb service at the reception desk. They amazed us by sending a complimentary bottle of champagne to our room when they discovered we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.

Comment: Absolutely wonderful hotel. Very warm and friendly service; large rooms; wonderful breakfast; close to the major sites. A great value. Have nothing but superlative positive comments about the hotel. Would stay there again in a heartbeat and readily recommend it to anyone staying in Evora.

Comment: This hotel was excellent all round and we could not find any fault with it. The owners and staff display genuinely wonderful customer service. The room was spacious with a very large comfortable bed and spotless bathroom. Breakfast was generous, fresh and had lots of choice. Very good location within the city walls.

Comment: Todo el staff encantadores. Tuvimos un pequeño incidente sin ninguna importancia a la llegada y nos cambiaron la habitacion por otra mejor sin pedirlo. Nos aconsejaron rutas para hacer , en definitiva intentan(y consiguen) que te sientas como en casa de unos amigos. Saludos Hugo y compañia.

Comment: Staff was excellent. Nina, and the two other hosts were very warm, friendly and helpful. Their restaurant recommendations were exactly what we wanted. Everything was perfect! The room decor was modest, but was overall very charming. Loved that the breakfast was all organic and local. We booked this room very last minute and were very happy with it.

Comment: A gem of a hotel! The owners, Peter and Nina, have created a warm, spacious and very comfortable "inn" experience for their guests. It has a "Relais & Chateaux" feel without the price. My wife, son (14) and I thoroughly enjoyed our three nights and highly recommend it to others!
